“I am currently going into my sophomore year at Bemidji State University, where I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In the spring of 2019, I received two scholarships through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation. I received the Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund Scholarship and the Art and Jane Snustad Scholarship. Then again, this spring I was fortunate to receive the Snustad scholarship for my second year at BSU.
When I was applying to colleges my senior year of high school, I found out that I did not qualify for any financial aid. However, through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, Win-E-Mac School, and other small-town communities and businesses, I received thousands of dollars that was put forth for my education.
A huge thank you to those who put forth the funds for college students who are just starting their education. It has allowed me to gain an education without putting myself into accumulating debt. Thank you to those who give us students the opportunity to apply for these scholarships, as well as receive them. It is very appreciated!”
