Colt Uhlenhopp, a graduate of Bemidji, earned the Ray F. and John F. Breen Scholarship.
Here is what he submitted:
Hello,
My name is Colt Uhlenhopp, and I am from Bemidji, Minnesota. I recently graduated high school and am attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I would like to thank you for selecting me to receive the 2021 Ray F. and John F. Breen Scholarship. Thank you for being super generous, this scholarship is going to benefit me in many ways. My family has never had very much money, so the price of college rests completely on my shoulders. This scholarship will not only take a lot of stress away from myself, but my family’s as well. Being able to go to college and focus on my education rather than working at a job forty hours a week just trying to get by, is going to help me tremendously. When I found out I was selected for this scholarship, I was ecstatic. I knew how much this was going to benefit my education and college experience. I am so thankful for being selected to win this scholarship.
