Throughout the scholarship season, we are spotlighting scholarship recipients by sharing the thank you notes they submitted to their respective scholarship committees.
The donors who support these funds and the volunteers and committee members who champion these funds are all investing in the future of this region. We thank them for their work in making a sustainable impact of the lives of those who call our community home.
Masresha Toward, who graduated from Bemidji High School, earned the George Pelawa – Calgary Flames Scholarship and the James and Sylvia Sande Scholarship.
Here is what she submitted:
I am overly thankful for this scholarship, and its ability to aid in my dreams. This scholarship will help my parents that are both teachers that have three daughters in college at the same time. This will help me with having less money in debt also. It made me extremely proud to be selected for this scholarship, I was never a very recognized hard worker in a family of good students. It helped with my confidence in my ability to get things that I work hard for.
Thank you so much for this honor.
