October 30, 2023 (Bemidji, MN) – The Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund has announced its fall 2023 grant award recipients. The education fund awards annual grants to ISD 31 teachers through a competitive application and review process.
There were 41 grant applications received, with requests totaling nearly $40,000. More than $13,000 was awarded to 21 applicants for various projects and classrooms throughout Bemidji Area Schools, including:
- Art Mural / Gene Dillion Elementary
- Field Trip / Gene Dillion Elementary and J.W. Smith Elementary
- Calming Rooms / Bemidji High School
- Student Support Program / Horace May Elementary
- Science Equipment / Lumberjack High School
- 3D Design and Creation / Gene Dillion Elementary
- Geography Maps / Bemidji Middle School
- Math Curriculum / Gene Dillon Elementary
- Model Rocketry / Lincoln Elementary
- Field Desk Boxes / Solway Elementary
- Calculators / Bemidji High School
- Classroom Materials / Horace May Elementary
- Technology Needs / Bemidji Middle School
- Robot Kits / Solway Elementary and Bemidji High School
- CARE Can Prizes / Gene Dillon Elementary
- Reading Classroom Materials / Lincoln Elementary
- STEAM Classroom Materials / Lincoln Elementary
- Plantwave Device / Bemidji High School
“These grants provide enriched classrooms – something new for our students to experience – but we need continued donations to support this level of impact,” said Jeff Haack, chair of the Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund. “We were pleasantly overwhelmed by the applications received this year and are excited for future opportunities to come for our students. We invite supporters of our schools to donate to the cause.”

In total, the Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund has given 60 grant awards for a totaling over $40,000 over the last five grant periods.
