The Bemidji Area Arts Endowment is hosting Art Shines Bright at The Loft, a fundraiser for the arts, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov.15, at The Loft Event Center, 116 4th St. N.W., Bemidji.

At its annual recognition event, the Northwest Minnesota Foundation celebrated six awardees from across the region whose leadership and service are strengthening communities in meaningful ways.

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is seeking proposals from community partners interested in creating or expanding programs to support the early childhood education workforce.

More than $1.5 million was granted or loaned out into the region from April through June through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.

The HC COLA Charitable Fund provides financial support for charitable and educational programs, projects, and activities that facilitate cooperation among member lake associations and to assist in encouraging environmentally sustainable use of lakes and watersheds.

The NMF Training and Education Fund was established in 2004 to provide financial support to nonprofit organizations and leaders in Northwest Minnesota, with preference given to efforts that build the leadership knowledge, skills, and capacity.

NWCoC is seeking information about potential supportive housing projects that could seek funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CoC Builds program.

Dollars released by NMF included more than $578,000 in grants through NMF’s family of funds, $165,000 in loans to small business owners, and $147,000 through NMF’s mission-driven grants programs.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services will host two in-person engagement sessions in Northwest Minnesota as it continues to solicit input on the second draft of licensing standards for child care centers and family child care programs.
