Donor Advised Funds
Giving is an impactful way to support the organizations, causes, and places important to you. At NMF we can help you wisely manage your own resources and your philanthropy.
What is a Donor Advised Fund?
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) allow you maximum flexibility with your giving by providing you an alternative to direct giving or to establishing a costly private foundation. You may contribute gifts of almost any kind; including cash, stock, or property. These gifts are accepted at NMF, invested, and distributed to the charity of your choice.
How does a Donor Advised Fund work?
Once you have established your Donor Advised Fund, you can give a grant to support qualified charitable 501c3 organizations in the current or subsequent years. Our online web portal makes recommending a grant easy and fast.
You can continue to contribute to your Donor Advised Fund at any time. Your gift is tax-deductible and because your fund is housed in a public charity, you’ll receive the maximum tax deduction available. You will also avoid excise taxes and other restrictions imposed on private foundations.
Stress-free partnership
Your partnership with the Northwest Minnesota Foundation is stress-free. We take care of the headaches of filing grant, audit, and other governmental requirements.
