The Everett Wilimek Endowment for Orchestral String Studies is pleased to announce that applications for its 2026 grant cycle will be accepted from July 1-31. The Everett Wilimek Endowment is in the family of funds at Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
Individuals within a 30-mile radius of Bemidji may apply for funding of up to $1,500. The grants are designed to support, promote, and enhance orchestral string educational opportunities for youth ages 8-15 who are studying the violin, viola, cello, or bass.
Please note: Grant funds cannot be paid directly to individuals. Awarded funds must be distributed through a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, such as Headwaters Music and Arts, acting as the applicant’s fiscal sponsor.
The Everett Wilimek Endowment for Orchestral String Studies fund was established by the Wilimek family to honor Everett’s memory, his lifelong love of music, and his deep dedication to young musicians. Grant awards will be paid directly from the fund.
Applications will be available online at www.nwmf.org starting July 1.
Visit the website and navigate to the Grants page under Grants & Scholarships. The online process ensures equal access for all qualifying individuals dedicated to promoting the Orchestral String studies among youth.
The deadline for submissions is July 31. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions via email by early August, with grant awards distributed later that month.
