In honor of National Volunteer Week (April 17-23), we are shining the light on a few of our dedicated fund advisors who volunteer their time to advance philanthropy throughout our region. We appreciate their commitment to building better lives in their local community.
Today, we are featuring Carol Anderson, a fund adviser for the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Education Foundation.
We here at NMF know that it is volunteers like Carol who make it happen. By contributing their energy and expertise, volunteers make a sustainable impact on the lives of those who call our community home.

We asked Carol to reflect a bit on why she got involved with the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Education Foundation and what she feels its impact is on the community.
I am the chairman of the board of the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Education Foundation. It is an enriching opportunity to work with this organization. Our communities, alumni, friends, and school staff have been very supportive of us over the years. They definitely carry out our motto “We Can’t Succeed Without You!”
We facilitate over 40 scholarships in addition to funding some of our own. We also fund thousands of dollars yearly for classroom needs that are over and beyond what the district funds. Volunteering for this organization is most gratifying as we are able to help students with their postsecondary education and provide needs for classrooms in our district. We receive the neatest thank you notes and pictures from the recipients!
The youth of today are our future leaders. I feel that it is most important to support them to carry on what previous generations have laid the groundwork for in our society. Giving back by volunteering is what life is all about!
