The Frances McNeill Karlsson Arts Scholarship is seeking qualified applicants to apply for the 2024 scholarship round.

More than $2.1 million was loaned or granted out into the region from October through December through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation. This three-month timeframe comprises the second quarter of NMF’s fiscal year.

Hannah Peura is a local entrepreneur, running a woman-owned retail business called Compass Rose in downtown Bemidji. Hannah has dedicated herself to Compass Rose since its creation in 2016.

To address the shortage of child care slots and staffing challenges, the Park Rapids area has decided to use a futuristic vision – “growing their own” child care providers.

Twelve businesses and organizations in Bemidji will receive nearly $1.2 million in grant support with funds approved by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation through the state’s Minnesota Main Street Economic Revitalization Program.
