We have a new look!
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation has launched a new brand strategy to more effectively communicate its role in building better lives throughout Northwest Minnesota.
With a fresh, more personal approach to its communications, we aim to connect to our past while showcasing a brighter future, one made possible by working side by side with our neighbors throughout all of Northwest Minnesota.
NMF is a community foundation that was founded in 1986. While our work is broad and ever-changing, we serve as a force and resource for Northwest Minnesota. We believe our region offers boundless opportunities, and our strength is connecting people, places, and possibilities. We work alongside our neighbors and local leaders to champion ideas that stabilize and strengthen our communities.
Our work began with an initial $2.1 million grant from the McKnight Foundation.
In our first 35 years, NMF has accomplished the following:
- Jobs created or retained: 3,723
- Number of grants: 9,637, totaling more than $49.2 million
- Number of loans: 803, totaling $30.7 million
- Component and community funds: 384
“We are proud of our past, yet we embark on the future with optimism and excitement,” said Karen White, NMF President/CEO. “Our core mission, vision, and values upon which we operate have not changed, and our current strategic framework remains in place through 2024. We are not introducing a shift to our priorities. Rather, this allows us to better illustrate who we are and what we do.”
