Do you know a youth who is a great neighbor? A good role model? We want to recognize a youth who is championing their community, perhaps raising funds for a local project, raising community awareness about a local issue or need, or someone who is a super volunteer.
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation has announced a contest through which it will award one youth, aged 9 to 17, the opportunity to throw the first pitch at a St. Paul Saints game later this summer.
NMF is sponsoring the Saints’ Aug. 20 game against Indianapolis at CHS Field in St. Paul. The winning youth will have the opportunity to throw the first pitch at the game, as well as receive four tickets to the game; NMF will cover travel and hotel costs.
Nominations will be accepted through June 23, at which time NMF staff will select up to four finalists based on the youths’ contributions to community. The public will then be invited to vote among the finalists, and the winner will be announced on July 17.
