October 28, 2024 (Bemidji, MN) – Nonprofits and schools in Northwest Minnesota that choose to take part in Give to the Max Day this year will now be eligible for grant prizes made available strictly to those in this region.
Northwest Minnesota Foundation is among five Minnesota Initiative Foundations that have signed on as “regional amplifiers” for Give the Max Day in partnership with GiveMN, which has hosted Give the Max Day for the last 15 years. The goal of this effort is to amplify giving in Greater Minnesota.
Give to the Max Day will be held on Nov. 21 this year, as donors and nonprofits throughout the state come together to celebrate generosity. Over the last 15 years, Give to the Max Day has helped nearly one million donors to give $330 million to 14,000 of their favorite Minnesota causes.
The potential of winning grant prizes has been a longstanding component of Give to the Max Day, as more than $100,000 is available to those participating nonprofits.
While gifts are made to and from every county in Minnesota, GiveMN recognizes that nonprofits across Greater Minnesota receive a disproportionate level of funding and support than urban and suburban areas. With the addition of the regional amplifiers, specific prizes will now be available to participating nonprofits in specific regions of Greater Minnesota as well.
For Northwest Minnesota, nonprofits will need to be located in the NMF service area, which includes Red Lake Nation, White Earth Nation, and the 12 counties of Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Kittson, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau.
