December 11, 2024 (Bemidji, MN) – Nine projects and programs have been awarded grants through the Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund, a fund in the family of funds at Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
Nine grant applications were approved, totaling more than $37,500, for projects and programs that support women and girls throughout Northwest Minnesota, including:
- Empowering Women: Beltrami County’s Journey Toward Equality, Beltrami County Historical Society, Bemidji
- Building Self Esteem of Adolescent Girls, BIO Girls, regional program
- Minnesota History Center “Girlhood” Exhibit, Firefly Center for Health & Wellbeing, Fosston
- Life Skills for Girls, City of Clearbrook
- Women’s Empowerment Summit, REACH, Norman County
- Supports of Women, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Clearwater and Hubbard counties
- Fiber Guild, University of Minnesota Crookston
- Women and Girls Self Defense, Gary Cares, Gary, Minnesota
- Living Local Women, Clear Waters Life Center, Clearbrook
The Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund develops resources and serves as a catalyst for improving the quality of life for women and girls. It envisions a region where women and girls reach their full potential and works toward that end through grants, scholarships, education and recognition programs.
