Throughout scholarship season this year, we are featuring a series spotlighting previous scholarship recipients by sharing the thank you notes they submitted to their respective scholarship committees.
Sophia Morin, a graduate of Bemidji, earned three scholarships through NMF: the Drew Russ Memorial Scholarship, George Pelawa-Calgary Flames Scholarship, and TEAM Industries – Don Ricke Scholarship.
Here is what she submitted:
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the generous scholarship and to tell you how honored I am to be a recipient. Your gracious efforts to continue the pursuit of knowledge to those less fortunate is highly admirable and deeply appreciated. I will be attending Lawrence University in Appleton, WI to play soccer and pursue a mechanical engineering degree and eventually a career in the field. By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school: learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me. Once again thank you for your generosity.
