Throughout the scholarship season, we are spotlighting scholarship recipients by sharing the thank you notes they submitted to their respective scholarship committees.
The donors who support these funds and the volunteers and committee members who champion these funds are all investing in the future of this region. We thank them for their work in making a sustainable impact of the lives of those who call our community home.
Sranya Vongsaly, who graduated from Warroad High School, earned the Frances McNeill Karlsson Arts and Gaylord A. Gunderson Education Scholarships.

Here is what she submitted:
I am absolutely grateful for your generosity in providing me this scholarship and want to thank you for supporting me in my future educational endeavors! In the short time that I’ve been in college for my fall semester, I am thankful to have made so many new friends, learned my love for dancing through Choreos, joined the Lao Student Association, and had the ability to double major in Graphic Design and Strategic Communications. With this scholarship, I will be able to continue to pursue these activities and hopefully find more things to love at the University of Minnesota! Being selected for this scholarship has left me grateful to enjoy my life in Minneapolis while being confident in my future as a Graphic Designer and Strategic Communications major.
Thank you so much again for everything that you’ve done to support me in my future!
