Throughout the scholarship season, we are spotlighting scholarship recipients by sharing the thank you notes they submitted to their respective scholarship committees.
The donors who support these funds and the volunteers and committee members who champion these funds are all investing in the future of this region. We thank them for their work in making a sustainable impact of the lives of those who call our community home.
William Starkey, who graduated from Mahnomen High School, earned the Mahnomen Education General Scholarship.
Here is what he submitted:
I would like to extend a huge thank you to you for putting your faith in me to do good things and awarding me this scholarship. The scholarship is allowing me to not have to work full-time while I am attending school so I can focus on my studies. I look forward to obtaining my construction management degree.

Scholarship season is now upon us! The application window for scholarships offered through Northwest Minnesota Foundation opened February 1st. Most will close on April 15th.
