A small business loan has helped a Park Rapids carpenter purchase new tools and equipment so he can increase his capacity and grow his business.
Downtown Park Rapids welcomed its third mural last summer, a vibrant mural painted in blue, red, and white that combines Scandinavian art motifs with music and arts designs, including a depiction of an Anishinaabe drum as well.
To address the shortage of child care slots and staffing challenges, the Park Rapids area has decided to use a futuristic vision – “growing their own” child care providers.
At its annual recognition event, the Northwest Minnesota Foundation celebrated six awardees from throughout the region whose work and energies are leading and supporting community in meaningful ways.
Often used to illustrate the many hands who help lift a child through their development, this phrase speaks to the need for many people to come together to provide a safe and healthy environment for children, where children are given the security they need to develop and flourish, where children’s voices matter.
With the goal of making a meaningful, lasting impact on the Park Rapids and Nevis area, Mark and Peggy Hewitt worked with the Northwest Minnesota Foundation to hold an open grand round for nonprofits that are working to remove barriers for youth and families to achieve success.
