The impact of the latest grant round of the Bemidji Area Arts Endowment could be clearly heard this week in downtown Bemidji.

An assessment was recently completed on a former nursing home/youth center in Baudette, as the community there had thoughts of potential reuse for multi-family housing.

The All School Reunion weekend in Bemidji is happening now, through this weekend, from which a proceeds of the event will benefit the Bemidji 31 Education Foundation, a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, and go toward its $20,000 matching grant from the George W. Neilson Foundation.

For July’s Board of Directors meetings, our staff and board traveled to Hallock, where we met at Far North Spirits, toured Revelation Ale Works, and had the chance to visit with local community members.

Early grant support from the Thief River Falls Area Community Fund helped spur efforts to bring a program that builds self-esteem in adolescent girls to the local community.
