The Bemidji Area Arts Endowment Fund, a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, has granted out more than $23,000 to support the arts in the Bemidji area.

Thanks to a $1,000 grant from the Bemidji 31 Education Foundation Fund, around three dozen Bemidji Middle Schools were able to learn the art of woodturning, each making their own duck call.

Theresa Gustafson, who graduated from Bemidji High School, earned the Ray F. and John F. Breen Scholarship and the John and Iva Lee Graupman Family Scholarship.
